Mountaineering sports club "Transverzalec" and Democratic renovation of Macedonia
Honouring the 8th September, and as part of presenting Macedonia as Balkans mountbiking and mountains paradise "Sunny circle"
Geographical place of Skopje is allowing with small costs and for short time to go out at mountains. This posibility is often used by our citizens. In the sport spirit we are inviting you to the 2nd mountbiking marathon „SHARSKI VODI 08“, from Popova Shapka to Bunec at Mavrovo lake. Basic moto for all mountineering tours is "Healthy spirit in healthy body". Participating in this manifestation you will have an oportunity to see and feel Shar mountain with Polog basin and wider area. And to feel the pleasure of winning because everyone who passes the track is the winner.
Marathon will be organized at 22.06.2008 (Sunday).
Few details:
- Starting fee is 50,00 denars.
- The start is at 07:00 h before the mountain refuge "SMREKA" at Popova Shapka (the mountbiking track is 87,9 км long, with 3 control points and about 800 meters height difference going down, it takes about 8 to 10 to pass it)
- The finnish: The childred resort "Bunec" at Mavrovo lake, the race will be open untill 19:00 часот, there will be also entertaining program at the finnish line, also sandwich and tavche-gravche (macedonian speciality) from 18:00 to 19:00 h. There will be also closing speech, passable cup for the winner, and every participant will receive a modest reward.
The control points are connected with radio links and appropriate refreshments, and with announcement you can go down at the old road for Gostivar, where at 17 h will pass a bus to carry those participants to "Bunec" and then back to Skopje.
There is organized transportation from Skopje (from the Post office near the Railroad station at 05:45 h) to Popova Shapka and after the marathon, from Mavrovo to Skopje.
Price 200,00 denars together with the bike.
Everyone who is healthy enough and feels capable for this kind of challenge, is welcome to join, at his own risk. The track is marked with blue color and yellow strips on sticks.
Behaviour at the track: Every participant is obliged to take care of the nature, from polution, fire and distraction "Mau the leaf be green forever".
The choice of clothing is personall.
Equipment – well prepared bike, tyres - spare internal and glue, pump, helmet if posible.

NOTION: At Saturday 21.06.2008 starting from the Student home (campus) "Goce Delchev" at 08:00h, there will be organized trip with bikes to Popova Shapka, spending the night in the refuge "Smreka" will cost 200,00 den. (the tour time is about 8-9 h).
